Zane's Preschool Graduation

On May 19th, Zane graduated from his last year of Preschool. He is so excited to go to Kindergarten in the Fall. We're so proud of you Zane and love you!

Father and Sons Campout

On May 15th, Dan took the boys to a Father and Sons Campout with Pa and some of Dan's brothers. Zane and Gavin had a blast! Dan said they slept in the tent really well too. Looks like this will have to become a tradition!

Happy 31st Birthday to me!

I had a really hard time turning 30 last year. I think the part that bugged me the most was that I wasn't able to say that I was in my 20's anymore. But 31 wasn't bad at all. I had a really good birthday! I had slept over at my mom's the night before because Dan was at a Father and Son's campout with the boys, Lindsay slept over at Grandma Tracey's and I was having a Girl's Night, so I decided to just sleep over. The morning of my birthday, my mom and dad made a delicious breakfast, then when I met Dan at home with the kids, he'd gotten me flowers. That night, we went to dinner at Red Robin with my parents, Amy, Karen & Christian, Melissa Smith, and Hayley & Justin Haskins. Then a few of us went to see the movie "Angels and Demons" which was really good and then out for ice cream. Thanks everyone for a really nice birthday!

Happy Mother's Day!

The day before Mother's Day, we went to visit Grandma Skousen. It had been a few months so it was really good to see her. She's doing well. I had a nice Mother's Day and the kids were so cute with their little gifts they had made me at school. Dan got me an IPOD which was also part of my Birthday present. I am grateful to be a mother and can't believe I'll be a mother of 4 soon. I am very grateful for wonderful mom's that Dan and I have been blessed with. We love you!

Matt, Lauren and Mattison came from California to surprise my mom for Mother's Day. We were able to get some pictures of all the grandkids, except Carter, Molly and Noah who are in Arizona. It was fun to have Matt and Lauren here for a few days and Lindsay LOVED playing with Matti!

Zane's Fieldtrip

In May, Zane had his last Preschool fieldtrip. We went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. Zane was a little timid about feeding the animals right out of his hand (I don't blame him, I'm the same way) so he would just throw it over the fance. But of course Gavin was sticking his hand right through the fence and letting them lick him. We also got to go on a wagon ride.

Scripture power!

I wish I could take credit for this, but I can't because I don't sit and eat breakfast while reading my scriptures (I know, I probably should) but one morning Gavin decided he wanted to read his scriptures while he ate. I thought it was very cute. He's been obsessed with his Book of Mormon ever since we bought him his own. It has his name written in it and he knows it's his because he is now recognizing the letter "G" starts ith his name.

Lady's Man

Zane can make his one eyebrow go up while leaving the other one down and it makes us laugh. Even when he's telling you a story or something important, he does it. I love it! I think the girls might like it too when he gets older!

Pedicures

One morning, Lindsay decided to do pedicures. They were cracking me up! They took turns doing them on each other. Then they did one on me.

Lindsay's Spring Dance Recital

On April 20th and 21st, we had our Spring Dance Recital. Lindsay performed both nights and she did a great job! I got to choreograph her Jazz dance ("Big Girls' Don't Cry") along with 3 other classes ("Monkey's Uncle", "Tiny Toes" and "Baby Ballerina"). I've never choreographed before, besides the lame little dances me and my sisters would make up! So I really enjoyed the experience. Lindsay really loves dancing and it comes very natural for her. I hope she'll want to continue doing it! Great job Linds!

She lost her first tooth!!!

FINALLY! Lindsay has been wanting a loose tooth for over a year, not knowing what a pain (literally) it would be. Almost a month ago, we had dentist appointments (no one had cavaties, which is a first for my kids). That morning, before going to the dentist, Lindsay found that she had an adult tooth coming in behind her bottom front tooth. Perfect timing! My only concern was that the baby tooth in front of it wasn't loose at all. So while at the dentist, he loosened it for her and said to have her keep wiggling it and it should be out within a week. Well obviously that didn't happen. Dan made several attempts to pull it while I had to hold her down and she was screaming! We gave up on torturing her and made an appointment to have it pulled. She said she didn't care if the dentist pulled it, until I drove up to the dentist office yesterday. She started to get really nervous. My neighbor, Mindy, watched the boys for me and Lindsay's friend, Maizy, came with us. Lindsay willingly got into the chair and I knelt down by her and held her hand. Our dentist is awesome! I asked him not to give her a shot because a lot of times that makes it more traumatic. He agreed. He got out his pliers and Lindsay started to cry but held mostly still. He was trying to get the pliers around the tooth, when, "POP!" the tooth came flying out and landed on her dental bib. She cried for just a minute but later said it didn't hurt at all. She was just crying because she was scared. Phew! Glad it's over and so is she. She got a spinning toothbrush and a bracelet. Hopefully this is the last time we have to pay someone else to do what WE could have done if she would have let us!

It's a BOY!!!!

We've got another baby in the family! Karen and Christian welcomed a very big, healthy boy this morning. Harold Christian, going by "Harry" after my dad, was born today after a scheduled c-section. He is 9 pounds 9 ounces and 21 inches long! No wonder Karen couldn't breathe during this pregnancy. He is adorable! He looks just like his older brother, Nathan, but chubbier! They will be little buddies. So a little over 6 weeks until we find out if Harry has a little cousin buddy to grow up with or if he will be surrounded by girl cousins!! Congrats Karen and Christian!

Family time

I'm so far behind on posting this. But in March Dan's only sister, Melissa (Sis), her hubby, Zach and their boys, Carter and Austin, came to Utah for a couple of weeks. On March 7th, we went to the Clark Planetarium and watched the 3-D movie "Under the Sea". It was really cool and the kids loved it. Then we walked over the Biaggi's for lunch. It was fun having them here for a little while. The kids love playing with their only 2 cousins on Dan's side.

Carter, Lindsay, Gavin, Austin and Zane

In this pic, Dan was telling Lindsay to move out of the way of the picture. We took a second one and I don't like how I look. So since this is me blogging this, I get to choose which one I post. Love ya honey!

Chris and Char

Zach, Carter, Melissa and Austin. Melissa was expecting their 3rd baby in September, but miscarried last week. We are so sad for them and know they are being blessed through this hard time.

Trevor, Ma and Pa

Brie, Mike and Trevor (again). Mike and Brie are pregnant with their first baby and due in August. We are very happy for them!

Lindsay, Cassie and Travis. I just realized that I had not posted that Cassie and Travis are engaged. I'm such a slacker!!! Their wedding is on May 30th. We are happy to welcome Cassie into the family!

He's a big boy now!

We finally decided to get Gavin out of his crib and into a toddler bed. He's a little over 2 1/2 years old and this is the longest we've had any of our kids in a crib. The others were so close together, we had to kick them out of the crib when a new baby was born. So a little over a week ago, Dan set it up for him. He was excited at first, then he wanted to get into the crib. Dan lay on the floor next to him until he fell asleep the first 2 nights and hasn't had to since. He stays in bed all night and loves his bed now. YEA! Now if we could just get him potty trained before the baby comes.......
