Brooklyn 6 months

I can't believe our little Angel is 6 months old! This has really been the fastest year of my life. It feels like I was just putting Christmas decorations away and now here we are pulling them back out again. Brooklyn turned 6 months old on December 5th. Her 6 month checkup was on December 8th. Her stats were:
Weight: 15 lbs 14 oz (50%)
Length: 25 in. (25%)
Head: 44 cm (75%)

So she's still smaller than our other 3 kids. But her head is getting up there, just like the other kids, but is still little compared to the boys' heads which were off the charts until they were over 1.
She rolls all over now and laughs the cutest little laugh you've ever heard! Her eyes twinkle when she smiles, which melts my heart. She's had yet another cold which brought on another ear infection, so that would make 4 ear infections. We have an appointment with our ENT doctor in a couple of weeks to talk about tubes. Her Excema is under control with just Aquaphore, which is good.

She moves all her bed now. The other day I went in to see if she was awake and she was quietly playing with her toes. I called her name and she looked up at me and smiled. Such a doll!

She has been really funny about baby food. She LOVES the vegetables and was refusing to eat the fruits for quite a while. Just this past week, she started opening her mouth when we gave her applesauce. This picture is her first time in her high chair. Looks like she likes it!

Brooklyn 5 months

Brooklyn is 5 months old! Time just keeps going faster and faster! She is in my favorite baby stage. I love that she smiles when we walk into the rooom and that we can make her giggle and that she grabs her toes and anything around to look at and explore it! I also like that she's not mobile yet!

She started rolling from her back to her tummy on October 12th. She hasn't figured how to get back to her tummy yet but she's getting close. She used to cry every time she'd roll over because she hated being on her tummy, but now she likes it.

We started baby food and so far she really only likes the rice cereal.

The peas are a different story!

She discovered her toes and her voice about 2 weeks ago. I love hearing her coo. It is one of my favorite sounds!

She started getting Excema at aout 3 months old on her left cheek and on the insides of her elbows and behind her knees. So far we've been able to control it with Auquaphor.

Brooklyn 4 months

Brooklyn had her 4 month checkup on October 8th. She was 13 lbs 8 oz and 24 1/2 inches long. I was looking at the other kids' weights at 4 months old and this is what they were:
Lindsay: 16 lbs 8 oz and 26.5 in. long
Zane: 17 lbs 1 oz and 25.3 in. long
Gavin: 18 lbs 11 oz and 25 3/4 in. long
So as you can see, our little Brooklyn is just that.....little. I can't believe Gavin was 5 more pounds than Brooklyn is right now! She was our biggest baby at birth but is growing a lot slower than the other kids which I am just fine with! She's smiling so much now and the kids love interacting with her. She still does the silent giggle which is cute but every now and then we hear her giggle out loud! She's getting her 4th cold since she was born (poor thing) and while at her checkup we discovered that both her ears were infected which would make this her second double ear infection. Dr. Edwards said to just plan on getting tubes in her ears (Zane and Gavin both had them). So that will probably be happening sooner than later. Here's a little video of her giggling just a little bit.

Brooklyn 3 months

These pictures of Brooklyn are so darn sweet, I can hardly stand it! She turned 3 months old on September 5th. She is giggling a lot now and smiles tons! She often does this HUGE smile, like she's trying to get a laugh out, but doesn't. We call it her silent giggle. She discovered her hands and they are almost always in her little mouth now. She still doesn't like being on her belly. She is still not growing as fast as our other kids even though her cheeks don't look that way. She's still wearing some of her 0-3 month clothes and she is still in size 1 diapers (our 3 other kids were all in size 2 by now and 3-6 month clothes). The kids still adore her and the second they hear her cry, they run to make sure she's ok. I have to tell them that it's ok for babies to cry sometimes. She's been sleeping 10 hours for a couple of weeks now but I'm still struggling with putting her in the crib in Gavin's room. I just love having her close by me in her bassinette. It's so fun to see her little personality coming out! (I'm having a hard time picking which picture to make an 8x10 for my wall......which one should I pick?????)

Love her dimples!

I love how she's playing with her little hands in this one!

Brooklyn 2 months

Brooklyn is already 2 months old! At her appointment, she weighed 11 pounds (50%) was 21 1/2 in. long (25%) and her head is 39 cm (50%). Seriously, she was born our biggest baby but at this point, she is our smallest. The other kids were all 50% and above on everything. She is starting to really interact with us, smiling and cooing. We've almost gotten a few giggles ~ almost! She is getting another cold. I'm afraid of what winter will bring. I love the stage she's coming into right now though. I can't wait until we can get her to laugh and laugh! I love baby's giggles!

One month old!!!

Today Brooklyn is one month old! It has flown by way too fast! She smiled at me for the first time today! It was so sweet. She got a little fussy about a week ago but we think it's from gas. But the today she's been fine again. We did try Soy formula last night just to see if that made a difference and within 10 minutes she threw it ALL up ALL over me and her. So NO on the Soy. We'll just stick with the Similac RS where spitting up is very rare. She's still sleeping awesome at night. Her hair is getting longer on the top of her head and we hope she doesn't lose any in the back. The blanket she's laying on was made my sister in law, Cassie and her mom. Cassie said it was her first attempt at making a blanket and burp cloths and she did a great job!

3 weeks old!

Our sweet Brooklyn is STILL sleeping 6-8 hours every night! What a sweetheart! I took her back into the doctor to have them check her weight to make sure she had gained back her birth weight and she was 8 lb 12oz, so YEA, she'd gained it back plus 2 oz. Then I returned to the doctor 4 days later because she had a yeast infection on her bottom and she weighted 9 lbs 5 oz! She's getting so big too fast! I want her stay little for a lot longer! The blanket she's sitting on was made by Granny Annie.

2 Weeks Old!

I took Brooklyn in for her 2 week check-up yesterday. She is now 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 in. She hasn't gained back all of her birth weight (3 more oz) so my doctor wants me to bring her back in on Monday to weigh her again. She slept 9 hours the other night! I know, I should be better about waking up and feeding her every 4-5 hours, but I have hard time wanting to set an alarm to do it in the middle of the night when she's such a good sleeper. I'm not worried that she won't gain back all of her birth weight. So, yes, she's still been an angel. She's focusing more on our faces now instead of just looking right past us. She still smiles and giggles in her sleep. The kids still adore her (good thing) and want to hold and feed her all the time. Gavin keeps asking if we can keep her forever and ever. Very sweet. The blanket she's laying on in the picture was made by our sweet neighbor, Maddy, who is only 8 years old. She did an amazing job!

Family Baby Spit Bath

My family has a traditon where when we have our first baby we have several big showers. Then after your first baby, we do just a little shower with just my mom and sisters for the rest of our kids. Over the years we've gotten more lazy with them so they end up being thrown together. So they are now known as Baby Spit Baths instead of Baby Showers. Karen and I decided to do ours together after we both had our babies. Jenny and Lauren couldn't be there because they live out of state (sniff, we missed you two) so Melissa Smith (aka Beans) came in their place.

Amy, Beans and Missy quilting Harry's blanket

Riley and Mary, born 1 day apart

Kissin' Cousins, Harry and Brooklyn

So here they all are, in order from oldest to youngest:
Riley Bethers born April 5th
Mary Alldredge born April 6th
Harry Robinson born April 21st
Brooklyn Doney born June 5th

Lindsay, Kaelynne and Kelly

Laurel, Mary, Heidi and Riley

Karen, Harry, Granny Annie, Me and Brooklyn

They gave me a new baby monitor and Lauren made those cute bows and headbands

Quilting Brooklyn's blanket. I actually only did like 4 stitches. I'm cool like that!

One week old!

I can't believe it's already been a week since little Brooklyn joined our family. She has been an angel and I hope things continue as they have. She slept 8 hours last night!!! And when she is awake, she's usually just making little cute noises and just looks around. She was looking a little yellow at the beginning of the week, so I put her by the window to get sunlight on her and that helped. I took her to see Dr. Edwards on Wednesday because he wasn't the Pediatrician who looked at her in the hopsital and I wanted to make sure the her Jaundice was going away. He said she looked perfect. She weighed 8 lbs 2 oz, so she's down half a pound since birth, but not a big deal. She has such a pretty skin tone and a perfect round head. She really is a perfect baby. The blanket she is laying on was made by Grandma Tracey.

I LOVE this picture. This was when the kids came to visit her for the second time in the hospital. I think it's precious!

Lindsay is such a good helper. She holds for an hour or two and helps feed her. She really acts mature with her.
Zane has been a little more cautious to hold her but today he asked if he could feed her and he did a great job. He really wanted another brother but when they came to the hospital and he found out that it was a girl, he said "Mom I changed my mind. I want you to have a girl."

Gavin loves her. When he came to the hospital the 2nd time to see her, he said "Hi Princess! Mommy I called her Princess!" And he still does. This morning he even said, "good morning sweetheart." So cute!

After her first bath at home. She's not too fond of being cold or being undressed (me either! hahaha!)

I still can't believe we have 4 kids!

Brooklyn smiles A LOT in her sleep. She has 4 dimples (2 on the each side of her mouth and 1 in each cheek). We even caught her laughing a couples of times today while she was asleep.

I love when Dan cuddles with our babies. I think I have a picture of him similar to this one with all of our kids.
